Interesting wood carving sculpture that represents Mary Magdalen, which would be part of a set of Calvary, the Appearance of Christ or the Assumption.
The sculpture preserves a beautiful patina and seems to maintain the original polychrome. The piece stands out for its later Gothic style, according to the Flemish fashion, in which the clothing plays an important role in the composition to the point of becoming, the folds of clothing, in metallic shape and texture.
The sculpture remains in a good state of conservation, unless of the deficiencies it presents in the arms and the remains of an old attack of xylophagous at the bottom.
From private collection in northeastern France.
