Terracotta sculpture (with wooden arch) from the series that Bouraine made between 1925 and 1930, of the successful “Diana – Penthesilea”. It is a unique piece, made of its own hand. This type of sculpture made them different from those made in series with certain differences from one to others. This one has, like few, stretched hair that emphasizes the Art Deco style of the piece. It also has an angle of the arm of the arch lower to the majority, which gives it an exclusive feature.
The work is signed “M Bouraine” and brings the seals of the “SUSSE FRES EDIT PARIS” foundries as a brand of authenticity.
The piece is kept intact less for a reconstruction in the hand that holds the bow.
From private collection of Paris.
